South Burlington, VT - Ben & Jerry’s is turning 25…and we’re celebrating with a fun-filled winter festival at our world-famous Factory Tour in Waterbury, Vermont.

Admission is Free at Winterfest, scheduled for Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Ben & Jerry’s official anniversary is May 5th when Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield opened for business in a renovated gas station in Burlington, Vermont. “We selected this weekend specifically because it falls between Ben and Jerry’s “real” birthdays,” said Sue Scheer, Tour Manager for the Waterbury facility, which welcomes 300,000 visitors annually as the state’s #1 tourist attraction.

A variety of family-style activities are planned for the weekend, including free tours, lively music, hourly raffles of items autographed by the company’s co-founders, snow sculptures, Claude Moo-net “art on snow” and more. The “Anything 25” Contest promises to be a favorite among folks who can provide proof that they’re 25 years of age, celebrating a silver anniversary in 2003, a birth date on the 25th of any month, or residing at an address featuring the number “25” !

On the party menu: what else but Vermont’s Finest ice cream, including flavors like Dastardly Mash and Rainforest Crunch, resurrected from Ben & Jerry’s Flavor Graveyard for this special weekend. Say “Happy Birthday” to Ben and Jerry by signing a gigantic birthday card. Celebrate with a slice of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream cake. Still hungry? Scoop up some sugar on snow Ben & Jerry’s style ~ warm maple syrup served on our new Vanilla For A Changeä ice cream. Burlington’s famous Ahli Baba’s Kabob Shop will be on site with delicious food and Ben & Jerry’s Java Hut will be serving up steamy hot beverages. Finish up the day with a walk in the snow. Umiak is spicing up their Snow Shoe and Ice Cream Too Tour by including a special trivia contest featuring Ben & Jerry’s and nature trivia questions posted along the snow shoe trail.
